Young Adults Ministry
Young Adults
This fall promises to be an exciting time for Young Adults at UPC. Events are underway that promise to be engaging - culturally, physically, and spiritually.
Young Adults will be engaged culturally over the next few months through a program of evening activities focused on connecting us with our world. Activities will range from the viewing of films and documentaries to topical discussions about current events.
We will be engaged physically through afternoon and weekend events where we are physically active - such as on the Frisbee golf course or in a kayak on Lady Bird Lake-and activities where we get to know one another, such as out to dinner or at a minor league baseball game.
We will be engaged spiritually through reading, contemplation, and debating scripture in Sunday morning topical discussions. Through these three facets of ministry, we strive to be a strong network of young adults at UPC, who are connected with our world, with one another, with ourselves, and with God.
Please contact Brent Matson or Sarah Grice for upcoming events.
Young Couples
The Young Couples Ministry facilitates fellowship among UPC's young couples. If you're soon to be married or (fairly) recently wed, we invite you to join us. Activities will include outdoor fun such as kayaking and sports, cultural events such as museums and movies, various community service and outreach projects, and even some day trips to central Texas areas of interest. We already have lots of great ideas in the works, but we welcome any suggestions you may have. The Young Couples group is led by Anne and Brandon Marsh and Kate and Matt Norman. If you're interested in learning more about the group or joining us, email Matt.
UPC Young Women's Group
--Mission Statement-- To bring together the young women of University Presbyterian Church and offer an opportunity for social and philanthropic growth within the church family. Uniting this group of women will strengthen their presence and commitment to UPC and mission in the surrounding community.
--Structure-- Monthly meetings will alternate between social and mission activities. The schedule of events will be set on a quarterly basis, with only one event during the summer months, combining volunteer work with a social outing.
Emily Horvath and Meg McReynolds are the coordinators for the UPC Young Women's Group.
