To be in the Service of Christ at The University of Texas has been part of University Presbyterian Church's
mission since the first days of the University. All college students are invited to be a part of our fellowship, worship, and study here at UPC. Please call or e-mail Ben Johnston-Krase, the UPC pastor overseeing this ministry, for more information.
For up-to-date information, check out the UPC
calendar for campus events.
Weekly Schedule through the school year
-
Sunday evening worship service at 7:00 p.m.: This service is central to the Campus Ministry program and attracts students and UPC families alike. During this service, we hear God's Word read, proclaimed, and celebrated in the Lord's Supper. The style of this service is intimate and somewhat informal, which is very attractive to the student population. For more information, please contact Ben Johnston-Krase. -
Sunday Evening Campus Dinner: UPC hosts a campus dinner each Sunday at 6:00 p.m., just before the 7:00 p.m. worship service. The campus dinner is in the church's Fellowship Hall and is free. This event is an excellent opportunity to meet and socialize with others. For more information, please contact Ben Johnston-Krase.
Choir Section Leaders
Section Leaders are UT students who are active in the Campus Ministry Program and part of the Chancel Choir, under the direction of Ara Carapetyan. These singers are section leaders and have had some experience in choir before. Each receives a stipend for his or her gifts to the music program here at UPC.
Mission Opportunities
Throughout the school year, we provide opportunities for mission in our local community. Our faith leads us to reach out in concern to others, and to be touched by others in return.
Fellowship Events
Campus Ministry has several social occasions scattered throughout the year. We have game nights, at which just about every card, board, and other game is played. We also bowl, dance, and have Christmas and End-of-the-year parties.
Retreats
We sponsor four retreats a year, which include our Kick-Off Retreat to John Knox Ranch; All-Church Retreat at Mo-Ranch near Kerrville, Texas, in the spring; a fall camping trip to Enchanted Rock; and a Spring Break Ski trip to Colorado. Retreats are a wonderful time to get away from school and enjoy fellowship.
